We stayed one night here after Lhasa to visit Tashilhunpo Monastery. What I like about this hotel is:|1. The air conditioning room temperature is easily controlled and able to sleep well.|2. There's humidifier provided to make the room not so dry.|3. Anti slip mat in the bathroom shower area to prevent slippage for safety.|4. 2 cozy sofa in a considered large room.|5. Black tea is provided.|6. Nearby supermarket next door only.|7. There's welcome drink and they offered to give the welcome lucky scarf.||What I felt for improvement:|1. Unable to find the tv remote controller. Anyway, it's not important cause most of the time we used wifi to surf information for entertainment.|2. Not many restaurant nearby but I was able to find a good tasty meal nearby .||

The hotel has a good location in the heart of Shigatse. Hotel is quite outdated but OK to stay there overnight. We got big spacious room with very comfortable big single beds in the extension part of the hotel. Bathroom was quite basic but decent size. We were told that breakfast in this hotel is among best breakfasts in Shigatse so we were rather surprised in the morning. Variety of food was poor, food was cold, and we also find out that it is not easy to eat sunny side up eggs with chopsticks 😊. Hotel has reliable and fast wi-fi and overall it was quite good choice for overnighting in Shigatse.

We had been warned that on our way to Everest base camp the hotels and restaurants would be more basic but actually on the way to and from we stayed here and had a great nights sleep both times. We felt welcomed and enjoyed the location close to the market and monastery. It’s a lovely traditional building and there is an interesting model of Tashilumpo monastery in the lobby. No free bottled water but there is a kettle in the room and we had a good shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast had some western items,

We had expected the hotels en route to Everest to be more basic that Lhasa. "Basic" I can handle, but dirty is something else. The rooms are big and at first sight don't look too bad, but the minute you start closing curtains or trying to open a window or looking at the shower door, you realise that these rooms have not had a proper clean for a very very long time. The breakfasts are poor. Again the tables are covered with dirty, sticky plastic tablecloths and for those who prefer western food, the food choices are very limited. It is apparently the best hotel in Shigatse, so if you are en route to Everest, you will probably stay here. Just keep your expectations in check.

We stayed in this hotel as part of tour group on 17 October and again several days later on return journey. Our tour bus had to take detour because of the roadworks in front of the hotel. |The reception is nice and well decorated. Nice beautiful corridor to walk to our room on second floor. Beautifully decorated room with wood flooring. Nice comfortable bed. Superb bathroom with excellent shower. |We had excellent dinner in the hotel. I had spicy Yak meat & potato on flame which was very good. Breakfast had good wonderful choices of Tibetan food and several western dishes too. Coffee is good too. Yak butter tea was creamy and tasty.|The hotel is in busy area, so nice to walk around. To the left you can walk towards the Shigatse Castle (Xigazè Dzong). Castle visit was not part of our tour. Present castle is rebuild of old one in 2007 and is a museum now.|Tashi Choeta Hotel is a great place to stay and location is nice for walkabout and do some shopping if you have free time.|

Stayed here for 2 nights, before and after EBC. I've not stayed at other hotels in Shigatse, but the condition at this hotel is poor to average. Room is clean, but carpets (and everything) feels very dusty and unhygienic. Breakfast was really poor so I ate my own muesli bars. I'm not expecting 5 stars, but a modern and cleanly furnished room is needed soon.

Everybody know that it can be physically challenging to be in Tibet and adjust to higher attitude and lower oxygen. Tashi Choeta offer a place to cope with all these challenges easily. It is in a great location. During the stay, I was sick and the whole hotel staff and the manager himself take care of me by taking me to clinic and ordering oxygen tank in the room. They make you feel like home and really appreciate their kindness.

It was the perfect location as we wanted. The room was good enough sized and the most important shower was great even in -10 degrees. Smiley local people and 4 nights stay made me great. I would say that if you are looking for medium range hotel in central Lhasa this might be one of the options
