Very Nice and Modern Hotel||The interior of the hotel is surprisingly beautiful considering it is located in the second biggest city in Tibet.||Nearby a mall - turn right from hotel - that has international restaurants like KFC and Pizza Hut. Less than 5 minutes walk - before the intersection. |On the way are some restaurants and snacks stores.||Buffet offered many dishes similar to what you can find in a 5-star hotel. Lobby is at 7/F while breakfast buffet is at the 1/F. ||You can leave your luggage for a night if you are going to Everest Base Camp.||The sad thing about the hotel is the air conditioner - it stayed 23 degrees the whole night. They had to send a cooler to the room.||Caroline Tang was very nice and accommodating and helpful. In her absence, Joy was a great help too.

This is probably the largest hotel in Shigatse. A few things that are different from the US. While it is a Hilton hotel, many things also have local standards. First off, their free wifi, you will get to the page where you have to enter your cell # for a code that will send to your phone. Unfortunately, my phone is a US phone, I have alot of trouble receiving the code. Ended up getting help with the staff, turns out their just need a local phone # for a code that does not need to be from your cell phone. After you get online, everything is fine, same standard as other hotels in china. I.e. alot of the USA apps on your cell doesn't work. |First night, we arrived late and dine at their Chinese restaurant. Food were on the salty side and dried. Expansive, large portion but not very tasty. |Breakfast was included, coffee is from 3 different coffee machines. Very average taste. You have to help yourself for everything. Buffet has alot of food but staff hygiene is an issue. Saw the pancake station lady had blue gloves on but was wiping her nose, so gross!|Hotel room is rather new, we love it, the A/c doesn't quite work, it's better to open your room window when it's hot. The wall oxygen is very weak and the box it's very dirty, I recommend you take it out, clean it before you fill water int. Don't overfill passed the line, otherwise, water will be in your nose and onto your face at night. Their oxygen will come on from 7pm-9am everyday. Room service was good but you need WeChat to scan and order from menu or you can call to order in Chinese. They have many tours group staying here.

這家位在日喀則市區中的希爾頓系列酒店,由於在市區中,所以生活機能不成問題。|第一次遇到這種設計的酒店,酒店樓高七層,大堂設計在七樓。從一樓拉行李到七樓辦入住手續後,再拉行李到其它他樓層的房間。而房間的號碼也有意思,不是一直連續的號碼,連續些房號後,就開始跳號。|房間面積很大,浴室亦可,屬乾濕分離布置,無浴缸,浴室提供部分備品。|電視頻道約四十餘個左右,但幾乎都是境內頻道,境外頻道亦是香港地區頻道,缺少外語頻道,對外籍人士而言,電視只是牆上的裝飾品。當然,這原因之一是外籍人士進藏不易,就省點成本吧!|房間WiFi 連結方式應檢討改進,會員號碼、房號等都無法獲得WiFi連接方式。要輸入手機號碼,獲取驗證碼,用了兩隻不同的號碼,都無法獲得驗証碼,只好找櫃台。|供氧及加濕系統均有些問題,操作方式有點像是考試。|從未住過早餐時間遲至7時30分才開餐的酒店,早餐尚可接受,就是咖機不給力,三台機器只有一台正常。|

I stayed in this hotel two separate nights before and after visiting the Qomolangma base camp. The rooms were comfortable and clean. One of the rooms I stayed on the ground floor had a walkout patio. Oxygen supply by each bed stops at 7 am. The hotel breakfast is disorganized. Always lacking plates and bowls; knives, forks and spoons have to be requested. Servers cleared tables slowly. Although this is an American brand hotel, no one in the hotel speaks English.

The Hotel us nice and the rooms ate big and comfortable. The biggest problem is that there is no english speaking staff. For|Food there is just the coffee ship with buddwts as well for dinner and at checking it is all chinese food! The showed us to the bar which is a big independant building and we were the only two guest. Could order pizza and a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced!

I said word for word “you are trying to extract as much money as possible from an unhappy customer and you’re ok with that”, the duty manager said yes, and I said it in Chinese and he also said yes, this is the case. ||There were several incidents that led to this:||1) I used a hotel driver who was texting and taking photos the whole time he was driving, then would speed to catch up. He also spat a lot, sometimes on my shoes. He would also ask questions, then yell at me and tell me the correct answer to his question even if I wanted to do something else. ||2) When I complained, the front desk offered to comp the entire fee. I said I was willing to pay him but wanted to make sure no one who is a foreigner would ever use him again, because my Chinese made it hard to communicate. Then, upon checkout, they acted like comping my ¥100 (vs ¥4000) meal was the greatest act of kindness they could’ve done. We had already had a lot of discussion about this “free” meal, which had its own issues, so them emphasizing that I just had to pay for the worst service ever was very off putting. They literally said “I understand we have provided bad service but there’s nothing we can do”||3) Regarding the dinner, the first night I ordered by phone and was berated, as if they were doing me a huge favor by picking up the phone (after several calls). They told me to order on WeChat. The second night I did order on WeChat. 20 min later the manager calls me to say he wants to comp my dinner, I said I’ve already ordered and he says they’ll send it right up. 30 min later, I call to check and the restaurant says they didn’t see my order, and even when the manager told them I ordered, they didn’t care to follow up. Then, the manager begged me to take their food, despite the fact that I was already asleep and he continuously woke me up to try to force me to take the food that was not even what I ordered. ||4) nobody in this hotel speaks English, despite it being an American chain. When I asked for an English speaking person, I was given three different people, all of whom laughed awkwardly when I asked questions and then proceeded to pretend they knew what I said and come back ten min later and apologize for not having done anything — because they didn’t understand what I asked. One even launched into a 20 min rant to me about why my English was hard to understand because he only understands “key phrases” and cannot parse whole sentences. ||I have stayed in 50+ hotels in China. This is by far the worst because they acknowledge their issues and keep smiling as if it is funny.

来西藏游入住2晚日喀则希尔顿酒店,是一次超值的体验。在高端酒店中性价比高。酒店很新,建筑格局和装修高端大气,够奢华。服务的各个环,不论客房還是用餐服务都很重細節,没有可挑剔之处。尤其是负责禮宾服务的Kerry有水准 又周到给大大的赞!!!

Similar to all previous reviews... As of today 1) thick carpeted floor makes it very hard to push luggage 2) oxygen for use is not maintained and very dirty 3) hair dryer overheats on high speed after few seconds 4) lights are overly complicated to turn on and off 5) wifi needs mainland China phone number to login, otherwise you will not have wifi for your stay. The breakfast is solid 11/10, the only saving grace for this mess
