Thanal Beach Resort

Location was outstanding...with a lush garden in front...these villa type rooms just looked awesome. Although in one room AC was not working...but that was manageable as it was winter time.

The location of the place is excellent and the good thing stops there. Avoid the place and look for something else. They charged 4500 per night for a family of three, room only. The room had so many ants in the bathroom and the mirror area. Obviously there were lizards to eat the ants. At night on the mattress there were tiny ants and other tiny bugs. Though they didn't bite, it was really annoying to have them run of your body. Untidy place. We checked out next day.

Thanal Beach Resort in Varkala Cliff offers a truly exceptional experience. The rooms are well-maintained, and boast stunning beach views from the balcony. The cleanliness and comfort of both the rooms and toilets are good, ensuring a relaxing stay. Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore from the beach view balcony is a highlight of this resort.

On our wedding anniversary trip to Varkala, we booked Thanal beach resort as our stay after searching a lot for a good sea view room, but this room was all we wanted, a breath taking view of beach , mesmerizing sunset, perfect location of cliff , plus their owner lady , she is very polite. Felt like home there. Must visit if you want your stay to be memorable.

The most amazing views from the balconies, the rooms are the best of quality and the staff is so friendly and always happy to go above and beyond. Best looking resort in all of Varkala and the atmosphere makes you feel at home immediately. There is no place I would rather stay, the best part of our trip to India and we will be back to stay here as soon as possible. The massages are an experience worth traveling for and will have you feeling like you are on cloud nine.

Hotel is located right at the hotspot of activities and has amazing views. Rooms are very basic for the price. There are no window blinds in the room and electricity kept fluctuating throughout the night and we had to call the front desk to get the backup. Staff is responsive but not proactive.

This hotel is comfortable and inviting, without doubt I would stay here again. I stayed here under the care of Dr Sharun, Thanal Ayurveda. My ground floor bedroom was a very generous size, and pleasing to remain in, which happened to be quite a lot, due to the treatment I was receiving. I needed to rest a lot and the beauty and quietness was perfect. However if I wanted to see life then I could do so by simply stepping into the garden. I enjoyed a very comfortable king size bed. Relaxing sofa and chairs to enjoy on my private veranda. Inside the room there’s an additional seating area. The bathroom is spotless and very easy for a person with limited mobility. From my bedroom I had direct access to the garden. Other benefits of this hotel is electric fans and aircon in the bedrooms. The location of this hotel is excellent and very near to shops and restaurants. The accommodation has proved a wonderful combination for me. Subash the owner is a lovely man and his team of staff are very kind and helpful without exception.

Very neat and clean resort with privacy. Sea facing resorts in North cliff. Inside small pond with fish in room. Lighting and internal setup is nice. Clean washrooms and spacious room and living room with Bamboo touch gives a nice feel. No complimentary food. Air conditioned. Can add a TV. Budget friendly.
