Elixir Cliff Beach Resort And Spa Varkala

We stayed at Elixir Cliff Beach Resort and Spa in Varkala, and the overall experience was quite memorable. The resort is beautifully located on a cliff, offering breathtaking sea views right from the room. Waking up to the sound of waves and such a scenic view was truly refreshing. The resort has direct access to the beach, which is a unique feature. However, the path leading down is slightly tricky and may not be very convenient if you are travelling with young children or elderly family members. It’s manageable, but not the typical beach access route one might expect. The in-house restaurant was definitely a plus — food quality was above average, and the variety was decent for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. We also tried the spa services, and were pleasantly surprised. The treatments were relaxing and fairly priced, making it a good value addition to the stay. One concern I would like to highlight is the lack of an on-call medical facility. During our visit, my child experienced a case of suspected food poisoning. When we reached out to the front desk, we were informed that there was no doctor on call. For a property of this scale and standard, this was a bit unexpected. Most premium resorts offer at least basic medical assistance, and I sincerely hope the management considers arranging for a tie-up with a nearby clinic or a visiting doctor in the future. That said, the property is stunning, the staff is courteous, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful. I would recommend this resort to those looking for a scenic and relaxing getaway — just with a note of caution for families with kids or those who might need quick medical attention.

Stayed for a couple of days. I would rate the service and experience as excellant 10/10. Location is amazing with a great view of the ocean. Checkin was seamless. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. They went over and beyond and helped arrange travel back from the hotel. The pool is well kept. Access to the beach from the cliff is a fun walk. The beach is almost like a private area and not crowded. There is also a life guard which gave us a feeling of security. Very kid friendly. The food at the restaurant was amazing too. The rooms and washrooms were clean and well maintained. The access to the hotel is a bit confusing but nothing major. The hotel was recently renovated but I can see that few areas need an upkeep. Overall an amazing experience and will return for sure.

Stayed overnight with family on 3rd/4th Jun 2025 in suite room. Sea view from the third floor was very good. Room was good but can be maintained better with respect to the price being offered. The direct access to beach is not maintained at all and is not recommended for kids & elderly people especially during rainy season. Pool was well maintained. Restaurant offered variety of food but was highly overpriced for the standards being maintained. Buffet breakfast was good and had decent choices. Overall a good stay. Thanks

My vacation at elixir cliff beach resort along with my family was absolutely great. I had a pleasant stay and staffs were very much generous. Specially to mention that Ruchi a staff at the restaurant was very Humble and her smile on the face was more impressive. Whenever we had the food at restaurant we personally called Ruchi to assist us. My son was so attached to her and started calling Didi (Sister). She has given absolutely services which we cannot forget I recommend elixir for best stay at Varkala

Place had a great view, but a little pricey for a 5 star resort and honestly looks like a 3 star resort at the max. Big rooms and decent food , But Amenities were not up to the mark and one receptionist in particular was extremely rude. He acted very coy whenever we reached for help. For a 5 star hotel the expectation with staff and amenities is much higher. We had a room for 2 nights 14th and 15th april , we booked for a taxi from the hotel for a visit to mangrove forests the hotel guy insisted us to book a boat ride through them, they charged 3500rs for the boat ride , And when we went to the mangrove forest we checked the price it was only 2500 for the boat ride.We couldn't cancel the ride bcoz we already paid the amount in hotel reception itself, When we asked the guys about the boat ride rates are much cheaper than he charged us, he was totally giving us no response without any reason he was just arguing with us ,Totally Disappointed with the behavior Never book any boat rides or any activity through the hotel they will charge you more amount than the actual pricing

Don't ever use this hotel. Pictures are not what you see when you check in. You are requested to settle the bill in full. The nightmare begins when you enter the room's. It's even worse than servants' quarters, and when you complain, you are asked to make contact with your travel agent for a refund or cancelation. We traveled for most of the day and wanted a room to stay over in for the night after a hot shower. Nothing of this was possible. At 10 in the night, we had to look for alternate accommodation without any refund. Other travelers were complaining as well. We ultimately reached Taj Vivanta around 1am tired as dogs but appreciateful of their cleanliness and value for money, warm reception, and atmosphere. The reason for the one rating is that at least it is situated in an area where the views are to die for, this being the case even though it was at night. Don't be misled by false advertising. This group and its management team, in my opinion, are a bunch of crooks capitalizing on tourists who know very little of what is offered in snd around the surroundings.

Placed in the calmer South Cliff, this hotel is a wonderful stay. The staff were polite, helpful and soft spoken. Though I'm unable to recollect any names, almost everyone in the reception and the restaurant are available for any calls or help if required. If you wanted to hire an auto or need a vehicle to self-drive, they arrange it within 20-30 mins. This really impressed me. The food was also good and it felt homely, so you would have no problems with it. And they accommodate requests. Though the restaurant serves lunch at 12.30, I wanted to pack some food for my journey. When I requested it, they gave it to me by 11.30. So, a polite request goes a long way :) They have access to a beach, so you can visit the beach and enjoy time. The rooms are well appointed and are clean. To point out issues- The shower head had fallen off while I was in the shower. The Air conditioner was leaking. The approach path to the beach is not very accessible, so if you can't do an uphill walk for about 7 mins, please do not go to the beach. They can arrange for a vehicle to take you there. But apart from these, the entire stay was pleasant and would visit again. Kudos to the management and staff for keeping this place great.

Chef Anoop took good care of us and both the rooms we had booked were renovated and good rooms. One bathroom door needs to be changed. The view is worth the stay and staff are polite and courteous. Overall food is an area which needs more focus!
