Very good all-round experience. Even though we come from Mumbai and we have a great coast line in Maharashtra with lot of great places to stay at, CL is indeed a unique place. It's location is unique. With water all-around and boats to take people. We found the restaurants very cosy and homely and that’s not possible without food that is great and doesn’t feel like outside food. I liked the restaurant décor that along with our villa enhances the feel of being in a traditional Kerala set up. The staff are pleasant, soft spoken & prompt. I loved the dress code. Special thanks to Thomas for pouring filter coffee from a height and making it enjoyable. Am extremely indebted to Mr Dinesh for his valuable insights about temples of Kerala and his guidance to visit Shiva temple in Kottayam. He managed to make me skip eggs for breakfast (since we were visiting 4 Shiva temples:). That’s a feat. My Mom will be pleased because she never managed to have her way with me in skipping eggs on imp festival days!!! Thanks to Akshay at your sea food restaurant for making our dinner memorable. And finally, Thanks to Ms Shiny for the hospitality. She has warmth written all over her face and a lady like countenance that’s quite rare in the hospitality industry. Thank you for being what you are. Smita Das & Minoo Aunty

A beautiful and very peaceful lake resort with very friendly, helpful staff. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the 'heritage mansions' which was extremely spacious (2 floors) and comfortable - lovely traditional Indian furniture but with all the mod cons you need too. We enjoyed the complimentary sunset cruise as well as the complimentary afternoon tea, the butterfly garden with a talk from one of the resident naturalists and the cooking demo with one of the resident chefs. The evening buffet meal was fantastic - so much to choose from and every dish was delicious. The desserts were also fabulous! All in all, a great experience.

I booked a day for my parents here to celebrate my dad's birthday. They thoroughly enjoyed the stay, exemplary service from the staff, evening cruise. The dinner and breakfast they had were absolutely delicious. Sharing a few suggestions from them: It would be great to have a shaving mirror in the bathroom. A bidet in the toilet would be nice. Guests can choose between an open or enclosed bathroom.

This excellent hotel is a great little escape for a couple of days or perfect for getting that feeling of the back waters without actually having to get on a boat. |We had booked a lonely little bungalow on the shores of the river and enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night, however the only accommodation they had was in the ‘Heritage’ blocks of duplex rooms. |To be honest I didn’t enjoy the latter accommodation, it was far less private and the walls were paper thin meaning that sleep was a little problematic for me. |The whole property is immaculately kept, the staff exemplary and the level of food amazing. It is a totally relaxing experience and one I will never forget.|Arriving at the hotel by private boat is also lovely. |Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful property with amazing spa and food. Historic architecture but modern amenities. Loved the e-bike tour- unique way to see the village and experience the area. Pratheesh, one of the naturalists, was a great guide - stopped on the way to show the many beautiful birds and flowers

We absolutely loved this stay after traveling around Kerala for 10 days. The serenity, the staff, the atmosphere, the pool and the house. Special thanks to the amazing yoga and meditation teacher, with 21 years experience, that made the stay here unforgettable. We will definitely come back!

Vishnu took us on a village tour on e bikes and this was a real highlight of our holiday. We were taken to the local Hindu temple, a local tea shop and a tour of the local area including the paddy fields and canals. We met many friendly locals and had some lovely chats. We saw the Toddy man in action and sampled the morning toddy collection. Highly recommended; important to get out of the resort compound and see life outside.||||Our special thanks to Vishnu and Anjana the naturalists. We loved the birdwatching, eco and butterfly tours very much. Anjana hosted us for 2 sunset cruises; absolutely beautiful.||||Thanks also to Anjitha who welcomed us in as well as waving us off; she is a wonderful and attentive host.||||Thank you to Sengs and her cleaning team for keeping our villa so clean.

Great cozy property. Lots of nature. Some mosquitoes at night but very bearable.||Service team is great and Pratheesh was very personable, knowledgeable and patient in explaining the heritage during the sunset cruise. He also did the bird watching in the morning and was insightful for a first timer like me.||Had a meditation experience in the evening.||Food was great. Loved it. Wish I had space to eat more and stayed another night before heading for my houseboat.
