Som Beach Villas

This was our 5th homestay experience, and I must say, I’m genuinely impressed. The moment you enter the property, you can tell it’s a well-managed and welcoming place. There’s even a security camera at the main entry, which adds to the sense of safety. As you step inside, a spacious, cool drawing room overlooking a private pool instantly makes you feel relaxed. The three large bedrooms have plenty of storage space — something that’s often missing in other homestays. The private pool area is thoughtfully designed, with curtains on the windows for privacy. The housekeeping staff is always available and ready to help with any query. Everything was clean and well-maintained — from the fresh bedsheets to the air-conditioned rooms. The kitchen is big and fully equipped, complete with a six-seater dining table, making it feel just like home. Our host clearly knows how to run a homestay perfectly. After two nights here, I left feeling refreshed and happy. Wishing the host lots of success — I’d love to return on my next trip to Mangalore!

Som Beach Villas – Our Slice of Happiness along the Pristine shores of Mangalore Som Beach Villas, a stand alone serviced property was a place we called home few weeks back where we celebrated our father’s 75th birthday. Our stay which lasted 3 nights had our family (A pretty big party of 13 Adults & 3 kids) comfortably stayed in both the 3 bedroom apartments with indoor pools in each of those apartments. Our stay did give us access to the beautiful and airy terrace with magnificent views of the Indian Ocean meeting the coast of Mangalore. Coming to the 2 apartments what we stayed in, each had 3 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, wardrobes and a very cozy sit-out by the window to sit and soak in the tranquil views. Each of these bedrooms along with the spacious living and dining room were air conditioned with fans that ensured we didn’t experience the elements Mangalore could throw at us on a sunny day. It also had a well-appointed kitchen with gas powered cooking range, microwave, kettle and a fridge to ensure that we could have fresh meals as and when we wanted. As it is a self-catering apartment, we did bring along certain necessary condiments and with a grocery store just up the main road we were set to make Som Villas our home away from home for the next 3 days. The Villas come with ample parking on the ground floor to ensure our vehicles had a comfortable time too. Prior to our stay we had a trouble-free experience booking the place whilst conversing with the Property Manager, Mr. Rakshit Shetty. We explained our requirements as we had a special occasion to celebrate, and he was very accommodating and in fact suggested few local Catering options to help us make the arrangements for the celebrations. He was very gracious to allow us to use the spacious and beautiful terrace to celebrate our father’s milestone birthday. The apartments were very well arranged by a lovely caretaker, Mr. Rajesh, who went above and beyond to cater to our needs during the stay. He was only a phone away for all our needs and ensured our stay was uneventful and we enjoyed our stay in bliss. Be it arranging for extra bedding or showing us how to operate the television or even sharing his own pepper powder to make our morning breakfast just perfect. He also went to the extent of recovering one of our guests reading glasses that were blown off the terrace ledge and was lodged over the window shade at the side of the building. The cherry on top was the very warm & welcoming owners Ms Preetha & Ashit wrote us such warm messages to welcome us to their property and surprised us with delicious ice cream. Som Villas delivered above and beyond our expectations with exceptional facilities and a location that one can dream about, waking up to the waves crashing on the shore. We had only one complaint as our stay ended and we had to say goodbye to a beautiful property and head back to our homes.

We had a lovely time at Som Villas. Their rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. We were a group of three ladies and each of us got her own room. Bliss! We also had the whole floor to ourselves so it was completely private. The kitchen and dining are very well equipped too. The villa is just a hop and a jump from the beach and we enjoyed morning and evening walks on the beach. And the terrace- what a view! We sat there in the evenings taking in the cool sea breeze, listening to the waves and watching the sea. An ideal sit out for a morning cuppa and a leisurely dinner. It was a wonderful experience.

Som Beach Villa made us Friends feel at home & very much gave us what we were looking forward to. The eye catching Decor, the luxury of a private pool inside, Location,the Incredible Sea View from the Roof top,Privacy,Serenity, Comfort & the Courteous service from the staff...all absolutely Perfect! Amazing place. The rooms were very spacious and was totally thrilled at the fact that my friends and I had the whole floor to ourselves. Beach very close and this is a plus point. Totally enjoyed staying at som villa and will highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet peaceful and relaxed vacation

We selected this villa for our family gathering and were thrilled with the experience. The inclusion of an indoor pool was a major highlight, and the terrace offered an outstanding, photo-ready beach view. We’ve been coming to this place every time we visit Mangalore, and it’s always been an amazing experience. The view of the sea from the terrace is stunning, especially in the mornings and the evenings when it is calm and quiet. We’ve even seen peacocks from up there, which just adds to the charm. The food is amazing and the hospitality is on another level. The staff are so warm and attentive and they really make you feel at home. There are two indoor pools, one that’s shallow and perfect for kids, and the other for adults with a beautiful cascading waterfall. The kids have always had the best time. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. Whether we’re celebrating a birthday or just taking a break, it’s the perfect air bnb for a peaceful and refreshing stay. One of the best staycation spots in Mangalore, and we will keep coming back without a doubt.

We had the most wonderful stay at SOM Beach Villa! From the moment we arrived, the Rakshit made us feel so welcome and cared for. The villa itself is absolutely stunning — spacious, beautifully decorated, and just steps away from the beach. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the breathtaking sea view was pure bliss. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared, from the cozy rooms to the little touches that made us feel at home. The location is perfect for both relaxing and exploring, and the atmosphere was peaceful yet vibrant. We left with our hearts full and so many happy memories. Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday truly unforgettable — we can’t wait to return or try the SOM River Retreat in the near future. 🌊🌴✨ I wanted to share the feedback after we left.
