GMVN Tourist Resthouse

GMVN Tourist Rest House, Shri Adi Badri Vishnu Temple, Uttarakhand is located very close to the temple (just few mins. walk). Caretaker is very nice and supportive along with a Staff for the Kitchen. You need to give food order in advance as it is made on order only as the rooms are very few and based on demand, the food is made accordingly.

Avoid this property of GMVN. It is in real BAD shape. We booked rooms online and when reached the property found the caretaker and one staff (temporary, I believe) in drunk state, refusing to cooperate. Since the property was vacant, we could choose rooms (2 double bed rooms were booked) but realized that the beds, pillows, blankets, bed sheets, and the toilet, were not cleaned for "many days". Stains every where. The rooms are stinking and damped. The rates are low compared to other GMVN property but it was like committing suicide in such a filthy unhygienic place. The food was also equally unappealing (you have no options for dinner at late hours... beyond 8PM nearby). The staff (especially the caretaker) should be sent on long leave. He is using the dormitory for his own commission. There are limited records in the register but guests came all night and stayed before they moved out early morning. This should be noted by the GMVN authorities in Dehradun as the property is en-route to Gairsain, the so called capital of the state.

It's good for stay. Prices are reasonable at this place. Food served here is normal. There is neither special dish nor special taste available in their food. It is normal. Two types of room double bed and another option is - it is like a hall and 10 beds are there you can get on bed in rs 300 for a night. Wash rooms are good.

Reasonable but renovation required. Main door lacks latch and bedsheets are full of fungus. Water problem was also there in the wash basin. Please see the pictures I am sharing here.

It is always a good and reassuring thing to locate a GMVN guesthouse at your destination. Safe secure and standardized service at a very nominal price.

Excellent rooms, nice helpful staff, I stayed there for 1 night 4-5 days back while returning from Badrinath.

Worst maintenance. Plz respect the pilgrims facilities. They may tired in travelling. They need rest to tired body and mind.
