SIU Mansion Lodge

Very ok guesthouse. So much so that we stayed there twice. Good value for money. The rooms are clean and modest, but sufficient. Two single beds, a chair, a table, a mirror, a bar for hanging clothes, wet towels, etc. Hooks on the doors, TV. The bathrooms are clean, although a bit run down, but ok. They are in each room: shower + toilet (on the ground floor - western, on the first floor - Indian). The fan in both rooms worked well and quietly. Drinking water from a tank available at the reception. The staff was very friendly and okay. The minuses are that the rooms are dark (the windows face the wall of another building) - but this is rather the norm in larger Indian cities. On the ground floor it was a bit noisy if someone was talking in the hall. On the first floor it is quieter. There are a lot of cockroaches, but where are they not in Asia?! (if you do not keep any food in the room, they do not gather too much). Important! These are the only bugs, we did not experience any others, nothing bit us, so great. 👍

Not safe for women... Told us that women are not allowed when we came as a family. The reception guy is too much arrogant and asked EXTRA MONEY . Please don't go with family and they didn't talk nicely with women and no safety for woman at all. Guy got scared when I started recording. Toilet leaking in washroom...

It's a cheap place to stay in Chennai and rooms are also of that standard only. Mostly Muslims are staying here as confirmed by receptionist, nevertheless person was really helping kind of person. There was weird kind of smell in the room.

Pathetic experience I had with the care taker. Booked an ac room via agoda and when I reached, care taker told it is not an ac room and it's a non ac room. He asked me to pay additional 300 rs for AC room. The way care taker handles the customer is with a lot of arrogance. As I had no other option I paid the extra amount they demanded and took the room. The condition of room is worst. Room is with odour of kerosene as they have sprayed kerosene for killing insects. It's a conjested room and the bathroom itself is not well maintained. The condition of ac itself is not good. Please don't prefer this Lodge if u are looking for a standard stay.

Non AC Double sharing rooms at Rs. 7,000 all inclusive of EB, WIFI, TV Cable connection with attached bathrooms. One month rent is an advance payment. Best for bachelor working and studying. Smoking and Drinking is strictly not allowed. Good care taker and weekly cleaning of the room by the servant. Clean and Neat place to stay.

We found this lodge online which pretty okay reviews compared to the others with really poor ones. After crashing for the night, I'd say that this is a really good option for bachelor's, students or people on a budget because although the rooms are small, the price is reasonable. The also had facilities of drinking and bathing water, also the washrooms were pretty clean making our stay really memorable. Kudos
