Had a good experience staying here. I will definitely recommend it. - Parking is available inside the compound (limited) as well as in front of the hotel. Lifts available. - Very courteous staff and it is great to see women taking charge at the reception. Felt safe staying here and this is very important. I wish all hotels will take Thiru Pavilion as an example to learn how to treat customers well and make them feel safe. - Walkable distance from key attractions. - Small but clean rooms. - Bathroom became slippery after shower. So you have to be careful. - Courteous and responsive staff. - No inhouse restaurant. But many tiffin centres and famous seafood restaurants are in the same road. Thank you to the staff for the memorable stay.

Good Hotel stay experienced. Very humble and good staff. Had a very good vacation. This hotel is near the beach. The beach is 500 mts from the hotel. There are good restaurants nearby. Recommend this place if you are visiting Mahabalipuram and near the beach.

My recent summer vacation 🏖 with family👪was most memorable at this property sharing my experience rooms were affordable well maintained with proper hygiene and washrooms were well equipped with modern facility 24 hrs hot water and good shower after beach🏖 it's a must! Staff were very friendly, property located near the beach and close to all tourist places. Ample car parking and lifts are also available safe and secured like home. Thank you Thiru Pavilion Retreat would love ❤ to comeback again

Positive : The hotel is located very well within the places of tourist attraction. Main staffs are friendly but not helpful. Negative : The cleanliness of hotel is not up to the mark. The rooms are not well maintained , bed linens are not very clean. Hotel management has to understand that cleanliness is not a matter of price always but an overall habit of people maintaining the property.

I am happy to leave the hotel with very warm and everlasting memories. Though we couldn't enjoy roaming around due to cyclone. Staff and owner were very helping and welcoming. No black mailing and taking advantage of weather and a great suggestions of how to travel back to chennai Airport which was already hit by flood. clean room and toilets,which as per the owner Malar is the moto of the hotel.

Fair deal, but be aware of its strengths and weaknesses... In the context of Mamallapuram, I am impressed. New aircon units. A good condition place, keen to get business and pleasant if a bit austere rooms. Priced in rupees, of course. Cash and local UPI only (no VISA). Balcony room was a king bed, king room was two singles put together. Mattress felt good to hand-touch Generator. Solar water heater. Rear gate for lined up one row parked cars. Staff frequently cleaning. Comfortable seating area with natural light in lobby 1. Balcony: too small for me, rather cramped, and could be hot since south-facing with a solid glass wall. But I stayed here in the beginning due to lack of vacancies in larger room. It was sufficient for one person, though I do not recommend for two. 2.5K 2. Queen: smaller room. Suitable if you spend no significant time in the room or for 1-2 nights maximum. 2K 2. King: bigger and has soft couch 2.5K Update after one night: I slept well and there were almost no mosquitos if you keep doors closed. Mattress is comfortable and aircon not too cold (you can adjust). On the downside, no rooms have a table, desk, closet with rod/hangers, nor a fridge. This is India! Do not expect the competitive tourist market of Thailand with its comforts - unless you are willing to pay substantially more. Update: after two nights I switched to king room (only two such rooms have a couch here). On this same day there were two 'hiccups': lift stopped functioning for the afternoon and hot water was not available at 10:15, only warm. Also, the next day I was given 15 hours notice to vacate. Only after enquiring from manager a little while later if there was a different room I could shift to, did they suggest I could stay on. No one offered.

Summary: reasonably clean hotel and room, though it’s a small room and really a tight fit. The location is quite close to the Shore temple and Arjuna’s penance and the ECR road for catching the bus to Puducherry. Five rathas are a bit further away – 25 minutes walk. Lot of eateries in that lane Areas of improvement – Should have had a cupboard and clothes hangers
