Hotel Abode Mantralayam

PROS: Rooms are good & Clean. They have a free pick up n drop to temple. Hotel is very close to temple. Restaurant is good with decent quality of food. CONS: One star is given for the 1) Staff's attitude & 2) Erratic tariff increase. 1) About Staff Staff should know how to speak to Customer politely. When you call to make booking, they ask you to call later since they are busy. No courtesy to call back and respond to messages on WhatsApp number.(Probably they don't care because of Monopoly). Restaurant staff is very decent, problem is only with staff at reception I suppose. 2) About Tariff In Dec2023, I visited this hotel n paid Rs 3000 (+700 for extra bed) for Superior Room. In Dec2024, The same room costs 5800/- (4800 for room + 1000rs for extra bed +some weekend price increase). However their website shows the tariff as 3500/- only. This is ridiculous. Again the reason for this is Monopoly. If the above mentioned CONS are taken care, undoubtedly the good hotel. (Till any good competitor hotel is established)

The location is excellent. There is nothing called service here. They take time to respond. High frequency power cuts, and they take 2 mins to switch on genset. Rooms are spacious, but the beds are too soft. The bathroom is smelly, and water is not clean. Bathroom fittings are not in good condition. The aisle between rooms is not AC and ventilated. Feels very hot. People are always busy. Common areas are maintained well. This is the only place in Mantralayam that is slightly up-market but not worth the price.

The hotel itself is good. My family and I are frequent visitors and we stay at this hotel every time. It's clean and the service is good. The only challenge I used to have was the food in the restaurant. But now, the food is awesome too! I just stayed there yesterday and the restaurant served us some nice meals. I wanted to write this review to let people know that the food options have definitely improved.

Excellent location. They drop off and even pick up from the temple, with an electric golf cart. Old and not too well maintained unfortunately. The taps, the health faucet are all rusted. Water was smelling funny throughout. They smoked the corridor with mosquito repellent. Probably necessary as there are huge mosquitoes here but without forewarning. We thought the building was on fire. Front desk was quite accommodating and helpful but in a listless way. The attached restaurant is manned by surly, unhelpful persons without knowledge of local language. Huge restaurant. But no service. Have to order and pay at the counter and pick up food from a hole in the wall.

Zero star for restaurant. No proper staff and service. Coming to lodge, no one picks the phone at reception(number ending 1111). Can't switch off lights in the night. No place to keep things in shower area. Old mattresses. Parking space and buggy service is good. Overall okayish

We stayed as a family at Abode residency in Aug 24. The room was very clean, spacious and well maintained. The rooms are well air conditioned and comes with a kettle and running hot water. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to Sri Raghavendra Swamy temple. Worth the money and makes your stay very comfortable and pleasant

This is a decent place to stay in Mantralaya. Can be maintained well. But overall it’s good. One can question the value for money. Parking plenty available. The attached restaurant is a joke. That guy who sits in cash section acts as if we have gone there for begging. He is too arrogant. I don’t know his name did not really bother to ask. But overall stay is good and staff at the Abode hotel are good and courteous thanks for that. Stay here and eat outside or at Mutt not in the attached restaurant Ahaar.

We are regular customers of Hotel Abode. We are very disappointed with their non professional behaviour. We had called to book a room for July 22nd, later when we called back, the staff refused and said no booking request had been made. We do not feel like coming back to your hotel for stay. We also have a call record for proof of what your staff had spoken and assured us that we our booking request has been taken.
