The staff were accommodating of our many requests. We were a family of 10 eating more than our fair share but they graciously entertained all our requests even going as far as to tone down the spices in our meals to our western pallets. For a big villa they worked tirelessly to make sure the facilities were clean and fully stocked for our stay. Our stay was pleasant and memorable. Only negative was the bed sheets were clean but there were old stains that made them look dirty so I would recommend a change of sheets. The villa looks very luxurious online but it is a modest stay yet cosy and comfortable. Otherwise our family had a lovely time no complaints.

Stayed here recently and we were a group of 10 adults, 2 kids, and a dog. To highlight the positives - the staff were fairly friendly and accommodating especially with our food requests. Although they were weirdly on the clock that made us feel like we were in school - not something desirable. Case in point they were not happy about us having a late lunch and thus said we could/should skip evening snacks and have the barbecue directly. They were also very insistent on us winding up dinner by 11. We finally told them to lay the food on the table, and we’d take it from there. Now comes the negatives - not enough clean linen - a big problem considering that the linen had yellow stains. Not enough pool towels either, 3 out 5 rooms had dust mites for sure since we’ve all been itching from the first night we slept there. On our final day we had a cockroach in our room. This mite infestation seems to be in the living areas as well, considering mites travel from person to surface. Overall, this place in its heyday would have been incredibly beautiful but today looks dated and maintenance is just a tick mark in the book. Also don’t go by the photos, the lawn is tiny, and the wide angle shots make it appear to be larger than it is. A personal pet peeve as an architect and interior designer - none of the flooring is appropriately installed for the purpose of the rooms - the bathrooms have a smooth marble finish which is a recipe for disaster especially considering water doesn’t dry quickly enough, the pool surround should have been anti-skid but isn’t, ensuring an accident waiting to happen, the staircase leading to the pool is clad in wood/wood product making it susceptible to water damage and slipping, and it’s definitely not anti-skid. The railing also seems like an afterthought. With it abruptly terminating as soon as we are reaching the ground level. The kitchen is a hot mess to put it politely, and although thankfully we didn’t need to go in for cooking purposes, the kitchen isn’t exactly clean. The door to one of the bedrooms on the top floor is like a hobbit door (not even 6ft tall - the norm is 7ft) ensuring that someone will bump their head Mind you, this isn’t due to lack of space. The room it opens to has at least 12-15 feet ceilings. Paint is patchy in places, the Gazebo/bar overlooks the Back of the house/staff quarters as does the children’s play area etc etc - I could go on. To sum it up, it reminds me of a house featured in a Bollywood film from the 90s - rich girl who loves poor boy lives here. All in all you’re paying for the heated pool. Nothing more nothing less. P.S.: one of the upstairs bedroom overlooks the garbage dump. So no view necessarly.

We visited to celebrate our pet’s birthday. The property is well-gated, which is a blessing for a pet parent. Our pet had a great time running about in the sprawling garden. We were pleasantly surprised by the little picnic the staff set up for us for his birthday celebration. The rooms are sunlit & the villa has comfortable seating, a quaint library, board games & an indoor pool - all things that make family time more fun on a vacation. We loved the simple home-cooked meals and the evening barbeque.

I had my best birthday stay at this location. Clean, specious and close to nature. The best part was the hospitality, the staff and specially the food. My pet was super comfortable and enjoyed his best. This was one of my most most favourite stays so far. Thank you saffron stays for this amazing experience.

Currently staying at the property. Please do NOT fall for the pictures on the website. Extremely discourteous staff!! For the price being charged (60000/-) for one night, for every little thing the staff is charging money. For use of crockery / cutlery it is Rs.1000/- per use. For heating the pool, Rs. 3000 with a 24 hour notice! And a refundable deposit of Rs. 25000/- on entering the property in cash. No decent tea/ coffee maker or provision for making one. If you are charging 5 star rates at least do the decent thing of providing basic tea coffee facilities 😡😡just 4 hours at the property and I’m dreading the rest of the stay! What else do you plan to charge us for? It’s a Villa you are renting and the kitcheN is smelly and dirty. Residents certainly can’t use it!!

A Perfect Getaway at SaffronStays Windermere – Lonavala! Our stay at SaffronStays Windermere was nothing short of amazing! The property is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and offers the perfect escape from the city’s hustle. Had been to Windmere in the month of March 2025. The staff is excellent.. The house needs to be maintained. The indoor pool had very cold water. The chinese food served is very bad. The surrounding are not scenic at all. In the neighbour hood lot of smoke and smell..we could not step out to breathe that polluted air.

We organized a 3-day offsite for our management team at SaffronStays Windermere, Lonavala, and it was a fantastic experience. The villa is spacious, with plenty of open areas and a large, well-maintained lawn, making it perfect for team activities and relaxation. The rooms are comfortable and generously sized, adding to the overall ease of our stay. The staff was exceptionally courteous, ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, with a great variety of well-prepared meals. The cleanliness and upkeep of the property were top-notch. Everything was seamlessly managed by SaffronStays, allowing us to focus on our offsite objectives without any hassle. Extremely happy with the organization and highly recommend it for corporate retreats or group getaways!
