Spice Jungle Resort by Maat Hotels

Horrible experience at Spice Jungle, Munnar! The pathway to the room was dangerous, door lock was jammed, bathroom lock broken, and the fan was loose and noisy all night — couldn’t even sleep properly. The staff even took my phone and posted a fake 5-star review without asking. We stayed here the previous day in another room which was way better, but this time they gave a horrible room for a higher price. Only good thing — they parked our car safely. Everything else was a waste of money. Don’t fall for their fake reviews!

Room cost is too expensive and there's no AC room in this hotel. Ambience is average. Complementary breakfast is not upto the mark for the price they charged. They have frequent power fluctuations and overall we doesn't have a good experience. One more thing is there is no parking for driver. Don't choose this hotel if you want to stay with children.

The rooms are in very, very poor condition. There is a lot of mold and smells of urine, handprints on the wall ,they never changed the duvet cover, the cover was completely torn, and they never change it even when asked. You can't call this a resort. The lodge and comfort station near the bus stand and railway station is much better cleaner. This spice jungle resort is disgusting. The road to the resort is too steep and narrow, and it's too dangerous too. The staff do not know which of the rooms have guests in. The staff came and tried to open the door in the middle of the night which petrified 2 of my children and prevented them from having a good night's sleep.The newly built establishments aren't even better atall.Infact, it's worse!There was literal black mold on the curtains and the urine scent present still.The food is overpriced for the quality it is produced in which is basically non-existent,it is greasy,flavourless and it took too long to serve.The swimming pool looked like an infestation for leeches and caterpillars plus was filled to the brim with rotting leaves which goes to show that they have no consideration for the experience of the customers. I booked two room for my family (me, wife and 4 children). The staff are not supportive and they are motionless and not friendly at all. You will be trapped if you paid in advance, there are no refunds! Definitely, this resort IS NOT FOR FAMILY and need locking up.

Stay was too good. Pleased with the service and behaviour of staff. Food quality was also good. Pure jungle like atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the resort. The food was delicious and truly yummy! The room service was friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. Special thanks to Service Supervisor Abi Shaik for the excellent service. Also, a big thanks to the team at Spice Jungle for the great food experience. Really appreciate the hospitality from everyone!

Worest experience ..waste of money rude people and dangerous road in Munnar one of the worest stay..Discrepancies between advertised photos and the actual state of the hotel are a common source of extreme negative… mainly road is not there worest service and rooms are dirty mainly staff rude behaviour not worth money too dangerous route i didn’t recommend this hotel please beware this hotel and don’t waste ur money this is our experience 🙆‍♀️🙏🙏🙏

Very badd, In a 2000 budget room,washrooms are not in good condition, there is no shower in wash room,very bad smell in the entrance of room from the near drainage. Pool is good. Wifi is very poor, not connected properly and low range. Road to the resort is very narrow they provide jeep service, but we can't buy anything from there restaurant( very expensive).
