Samiira on Ashtamudi Lake

With 8 rooms and 2 cottages, I think this is the hidden gem of Kollam. It is boutique in nature but fantastic atmosphere. Right on the bank of the lake, the breeze is unmatchable. Because it is boutique, food has to be ordered in advance. There is no ready made restaurant for you to order instant food. There is no bar either. The best place to relax and spend some days. It is expensive though but real value for money.

Samiira is an unexpected gem nestled at the end of an unpretentious road giving onto the serene Ashtamudi Lake. With such peaceful views of the water in the early hours of the morning, the location invites you to contemplate the value of life and to reflect on the beauty of nature. The occasional waft of magnolia flowers, the excellent food, the lovely staff, and the magnetic manager all bundled together really make Samiira a magical place to stay. Absolutely beautiful resort along Ashtamudi Lake... It's like you are in another world cutoff from the hustle and bustle... Was able to get a lot of thinking done, which you hardly get anywhere these days. A little paradise for the ones looking for a serene atmosphere.... and the home style food...

Nice calm and beautiful place to visit in Kollam. There are few cottages and rooms facing the lake. Almost all the area is covered with wood designs. Good for photoshoots. People are nice here and service too.

A hidden gem of a place on the Ashtamudi lake and near to the heart of the city of Kollam. Quiet, serene resort with traditional vibes and a very intimate feel. The hospitality of the place was amazing, and not to mention the food which was mouth watering. The breakfast with traditional Kerala fare was wonderful. Lovely traditional dinner (a la carte) was stupendous and what was more remarkable was their willingness to go beyond the menu to support the guest's desires. A special thank you to Aneesh, Swathi Krishnan, Akhil Tom, Emmanuel and Jitender. You and others (who I may not recall your names) made my stay at this resort memorable, and make me wanting to come back for more. Recommend others to try out this resort, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Nice stay at the back water facing Samiira resort. Reception person Aneesh carries the best smiling face & welcoming words. Kudos Aneesh! The staff are good, polite, and helpful. Reception person Krishnan, needs training - poor customer service skills. He has a bad attitude. Rooms are elite, the food is awesome, and the ambience is excellent. When you order something ask for the portion of the food. They are generous!
