Hotel City Inn

My wife and myself had been to Amritsar in the last week of January for 2 nights and three days. Because of inordinately delayed train, we had reached Amritsar at around 9 p.m. and because of extreme cold weather, were in need of a hotel room earliest possible. Near Golden Temple, we were offered a really small room for just Rs. 600/- which we accepted with the intention of switching over to some other decent place in the morning. ||So, next morning i.e. on 25th Jan., after breakfast we started hunting for a hotel in the vicinity of Golden Temple. After checking and rejecting 4 or 5 properties, we entered Raghunath Mandir Lane opp. CCD and found this hotel. The Reception area of the hotel gave us a good impression and we asked for a room. After we were shown room no. 125, we asked for the tariff and the owner of the hotel quoted Rs. 1,550/- which seemed reasonable to us. ||||After depositing Rs. 500/- by way of advance, we returned to the guest house where we had stayed the previous night to check out. The owner of City Inn had allowed us to occupy the room anytime without waiting for check in time of 12 noon. So, we broght our luggage and occupied our room at City Inn at 10.30 a.m happily after paying the balance amount in cash.||||The location of the hotel is very convenient since Raghunath Temple and Cafe Coffee Day are two famous landmarks which we frequently informed to the cab service whenever we called a cab. The Golden Temple and Jaliawala Bagh are at walkable distance from this place. ||||The first and quite positive impression that we had gained by looking at the Reception area was reinforced when we saw the corridors and the rooms. It appeared to be a recently constructed property and upkeep was excellent. The toilet was also absolutely clean and shining. The room was neither big nor small. We were just 2 persons, were hoping to keep the room locked for the entire day because we had already booked a cab for the whole day. For overnight stay, the place seemed quite warm, comfortable and inviting. ||In the morning, we called room service for tea and coffee and the same were quite agreeable to our taste. We didn't order anything else at the hotel since lots of options were available to us for breakfast in the market. ||For us, a couple that would enter into Senior Citizen category in next three-four years, the establishment gave us no reasons to feel unhappy. Although I never move around without my camera during my pleasure trips, I somehow forgot to take some pics of the room and the lobby for uploading here. ||The only thing that seemed outdated at this hotel was the TV in our room. Even though the TV was HD, the DTH connection offered only standard quality reception. ||||Behaviour of the staff : No complaints. Although the owner didn't have a melodious voice, he seemed cooperative and invited us in even before scheduled check in time. ||||Credit Card / Debit Card acceptance : No.

Worst hotel ever visited No cleannesses in rooms and washroom is too dirty Not even soap or any other towels Even gyser is not working Just spoil over night there Recommend not to visit there

Okay so the rooms, service and bathrooms are very dirty as you can read in other reviews but we experienced a very weird thing. My freind checked in the hotel in the morning and i came in the evening when i checked in the person on the front desk asked to pay 500extra to write the name in the register and to photocopy the id. This is very unprofessional management and worst experience for me to live . The no. Of person written in the register was 2 but he said you need to pay 500 extra or otherwise you can checkout. Worst experience and also i have the video with me and i will take all the legal necessary steps in consumer court so that this type of fraud in not done again. I would not even give it a one star

I reached Amritsar at around 6pm on 4-Nov and started hunting for hotels for 2 night stay. After viewing 5-6 budget properties, I came across Hotel City Inn and Hotel City Inn Tower - both belonging to the same owner - at a 3-4 minutes walking distance from Golden Temple. ||||City Inn Tower is a newer property and they charge roughly 200-400 more for a room as compared to City Inn hotel. The rooms and toilets were clean in both the hotels. I stayed at the Tower one.||||Things I liked:-||Close to Golden Temple||Nice and Clean Room and toilet. ||Split AC in room. Fan as well as exhaust fan in toilet along with Racold boiler.||Good Food. Had lunch and breakfast and was satisfied with the quality.||Decent Room service.||||||Things that can be a concern:-||No restaurant - food served in the room though.||Room size is small. No cup-boards, drawers etc in the room. Would say ideal for a 1 night stay.||No window/balcony to view the outside world from your room.||Staff wasn't very friendly as in they didn't show much interest in talking and sharing information - though the room service was good and prompt.||||||My Personal Recommendation:-||If you want to stay near Golden Temple for 1-2 nights and have a budget of around 800-1200, you must try either of these 2 properties.

though hotel is clean, they don't provide lift so it is very difficult to use rooms at 4th or 5th floor.||If you are aiming for low budget hotels in amritsar then there are so many better options than City Inn tower or City Inn. Room service is very poor. and there sewerage system gets chocked and it causes very pungent smell in rooms.. If you like to live in unpleasant rooms with freaky service and pungent surrounding rooms. This is the best place for you

Pretty clean rooms, ac/tv worked properly. Hot water available throughout and food was amazing and great location as very close to the golden temple. The owners are very friendly people and we had a memorable time.

To wrap it up; ||positive = great location, close to the golden temple. ||negative = staff is not professional and rude (knocking on guests doors early morning 7am to ask if they like to order breakfast???), rooms are very small , WiFi poor, food is bad.

Ok for extreme budget stay. We got rate of 1500 per room per night. Rooms are clean, tiles used are good and bathroom was also good. Geyser was also provided.
