It felt like a safe and serene heritage escape in Thirunelly, Wayanad Staying at this heritage homestay in Thirunelly was truly an experience to cherish. Nestled amidst the misty hills and lush greenery of Wayanad, the property beautifully blends traditional Kerala architecture with warm hospitality. The wooden interiors, antique furniture, and wooden roofs reflect the charm of a bygone era, offering a comforting sense of nostalgia and authenticity. Since it was a women only trip, we were keen on the safety aspects. Hence Aravanazhi Tharavadu served the purpose to the fullest. Waking up to the soothing sounds of birds and the gentle rustle of the forest was pure bliss. Mornings began with a cup of fresh local coffee on the veranda overlooking the hills, while evenings were spent around a bonfire listening to local folklore and stories from the hosts. The home-cooked food was simply awesome. What made the stay truly special was the warmth and attentiveness of the hosts, who treated us like family and shared insights into the culture, traditions, and hidden gems of Wayanad. The location near the Thirunelly Temple and the Brahmagiri hills made it easy to explore both the natural sides of the region. It wasn’t just a stay — it was a soulful journey into Wayanad’s heritage, nature, and hospitality. I left feeling refreshed, grounded, and deeply connected to the land and its people.

Home 🏡, Away from Home. Amazing hospitality by Mr. Rajesh & Family (Owner) and Ashwin. Both took good care of our needs as we had 2 Infants with us. We felt like staying with a family. Everyone from Mr. Rajesh’s family was very welcoming. We were thrilled to see the beauty around us and staying in this old preserved Kerala Architecture home circa 1936, with very warm hospitality. I would highly encourage anyone looking to experience slow, peaceful & relaxing life amidst nature and lush greens to visit this place.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Aravanazhi traditional homestay, a beautifully preserved Kerala ancestral home that has been thoughtfully renovated to offer a unique and authentic stay. The house is set against a picturesque backdrop, featuring a small water stream right in front and a river nearby, along with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. It’s the perfect place to unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy the timeless charm of traditional Kerala architecture. A must-visit destination for anyone seeking an authentic and peaceful getaway.
