NillUnwind and reconnect with nature and yourself. Beautiful grounds that reminded us of French or Italian gardens, no plastic in the huts and dining area, Bali style bathrooms and sleeping in a mud house devoid of toxins and chemicals adds to the benefits of staying in this resort. Also the bed was very comfortable and nice to have a proper duvet instead of synthetic blankets. Waking up to the dawn chorus was amazing. The food was generous, tasty and healthy. We especially liked the banana fritters with our tea. The handmade ceramics made the food and drink even more appealing. The room was spotless and even though it has a thatched roof, we didn’t see any insects. The staff are all attentive and sweet. Thank you for a memorable stay.

NillUndoubtedly the best resort stay I have had in my life. Such a serene and calm place. Manager Ambily and all other staffs at the resort are so welcoming and this definitely gives it a very homely touch. We were a little late to arrive and when I enquired about the check in formality, we were told 'You have your lunch first, will look at all the formalities later'. I don't think even a 5 star resort gives you such a warm welcome. Kudos to the management and family that manages this place. You have definitely made an impact in our life with your hospitality. The only thing that we regret is; we stayed just for a night. Planning to get back here with our entire family soon.

NillThe review is intended to help the business as well as those who intend to book a stay there. Everything below is an opinion and might not hold true for everyone. We stayed there for 3 nights and I am finding it hard to express in words what we felt during our stay. One has to experience this place to understand the beauty of this place. The place is run and managed by kind, sensible and understanding humans. Right from staff to even one of the owners (Deepak) who happened to be there during our stay, everyone is kind, professional, welcoming and comforting. The place has more female staff than the male ones and that automatically adds warmth and comfort to the place. Other highlight is the food which is one of the best parts of our trip. The lesser said the better. One has to experience the culinary simplicity and excellence of this place. The location is breathtaking, and the entire property is extremely well-maintained and we could see the painstaking efforts that goes into maintaining such a beautiful and big property. The entire place is laden with flowers, plants, trees, artefacts, showpieces, etc but nothing looks out of place and overwhelming. The attention to detail they have put to beautify the property is unprecedented in my experience. As far as the prices go, you would understand why the property is priced so, once you visit it. One might find the food component slightly expensive since a daily meal for a couple costs more than Rs.2500/-. Slightly flexible options to choose from might be a win-win for everyone. We didn't mind paying that amount for personal beliefs and reasons. Also, the food timings are fixed and all the 3 meals have a one and an half hour window and might not align with visitors who are on their leisurely trip and might want slightly more flexible timeline or a slightly broader window. Also, though the team provides you a detailed map and location of the place, adding signboards far and few in-between would make things easier for those who cannot speak the local language and are visiting the state for the first time.

NillThe Mudhouse Marayoor was easily the most beautiful place I have ever stayed it. The gardens were impeccable, the rooms were luxurious yet simple, and the staff were friendly and kind. Our caretaker, Ambily, was helpful and charismatic and she made sure all of our needs were met. There were gorgeous nature walks nearby if you want to explore, but you could easily spend your whole day enjoying the grounds and eating the delicious food on site. I cannot recommend this place enough.

NillI loved everything about the Mudhouse and will stay at any property this family builds. You can tell that so much thought and love has been poured into each detail. I especially appreciate how sustainability is prioritized here. The land is flourishing because of it! The staff makes the environment so homely and I enjoyed being looked after by ambili and Devu. I was given many options for activities at and near the property and wish I stayed longer to experience them all. Eating plant based/vegan isn’t always the easiest in India, but my requests were taken seriously. Having outdoor space for yoga and lounging in front of an incredible view of the hills was my favorite part of the stay. The full moon and stars shine so bright in the evenings and the shower has an open ceiling to really immerse yourself in nature. Everything was clean and extremely comfortable. One suggestion is to change the shower head because it isn’t the most practical to bathe under a rainfall if you don’t want to wash your hair every day. I highly recommend staying here and will be back. See you soon :)

NillI recently stayed at this resort after being drawn in by their Instagram posts, but my experience was extremely disappointing. The resort is completely different from what they advertise. It’s poorly maintained, with insects in the rooms, and no room cleaning or service at all. We arrived a bit late due to traffic, but despite the high rates, they didn’t offer any flexibility or compensation on check-in time. For the high prices, you’d expect at least basic amenities, but they provide no toiletries, the beds are hard and uncomfortable, and the rooms feel unclean. Even worse, pests and bugs in the rooms are a real concern—some even pose a health hazard, making the stay uncomfortable and unsettling. Their dining menu is very limited, though the food itself tastes fine. However, strict dining hours make it difficult to enjoy meals on your own schedule. The only redeeming aspect was the politeness of the staff serving the food. However, some staff members seemed overly friendly, as if trying to compensate for all the resort’s shortcomings. They often engaged in small talk and jokes, perhaps assuming this would distract guests from the issues, but it came across as a cover-up for the poor conditions. The resort also lacks clear information or guidance on nearby activities. They only mentioned a small walking trail after we asked directly; no proactive guidance was provided. Additionally, the road to the resort is narrow and difficult to navigate, adding to the overall inconvenience. In summary, this resort charges five-star prices but doesn’t deliver anywhere near that level of experience. I would strongly recommend that anyone planning to visit be fully prepared with essentials. This place needs serious improvements in both quality and transparency Thank you for responding to my feedback. I appreciate your acknowledgment of my concerns, but I’d like to clarify a few points. During my stay, the rooms were not cleaned daily, and I believe daily cleaning should be standard regardless of the property’s size. It was also inconvenient to have to request essential toiletries like shampoo and body wash, as these were not readily provided. Regarding the insects, I understand it can be difficult to keep them out during monsoon season. However, I was surprised that we needed to notify you just to have the room properly attended to.

NillThis was one of the best experiences I ever had. This is a perfect place for anyone who loves nature and wanted to be free from all the workloads. I would recommend to book for atleast two days as I regret now for not planning well. The best thing about this place is to spend time in the property, meet new people, have good food and spend some quality time without gadgets. All the staffs were so nice to us and the property is very well maintained. Thank you Deepak for providing a wonderful experience 🙌🏾 Highly recommended !
