I had a great experience staying at Akkara Homestay. The hosts were so friendly and made me feel at home from the start. The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed. Breakfast was fantastic with fresh, local ingredients. The location was perfect—quiet but still close to everything I wanted to see. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming stay. I’d definitely come back!

A lovely Homestay, with spacious rooms, a peaceful settings, spotlessly clean, great breakfasts and well managed. Ansen looks after everything perfectly. It really feels like a home away from home. Definately recommend.

Akkara Homestay! The name speaks volumes. This is a place that is truly like home. The gracious hostess, the delicious food, the wonderful young men who run the place make it a wonderful place to stay. They are thoughtful and caring. The ambience and surrounding area is so peaceful and serene.| If you are looking to get " far from the madding crowd " you won't find a better place than Akkara Homestay. Try it! You'll be delighted. Just went in for a function. The property looks spacing and along the Meenachil river. Has got ample parking and a good place for hosting 100-200 pax events. Good privacy and don't think loud music is a problem. Need to take a few narrow lanes and that's a catch but property opens up well to cater to a large crowd. The rooms were good which is what I was told.

We find Akkara Homestay is a good place for social get together ,food and stay.Natural lawns and the shelter with seats and tables on the river bank are all attractive.Two hundred years old rooms with wood panelling and furniture are very rare and special. We will not hesitate to recommend this resort to any one who likes village life with a proximity to urban area, Kottayam..ROY JOHN

Pathetic customer service. Really bad experience. I have booked a room for my parents after paying half of total amount in advance. I have requested for a ground floor room in view of a particular medical condition of my father( I have discussed in detail about the medical condition ) . They have agreed to give a ground floor room. We were traveling from a distant place and after reaching the property ( reaching the property itself was very difficult) we had to stand out side the reception for 10-15 min since reception was closed and one person opened the reception room after making multiple phone calls. Then he told ground floor room is not available since it was already allotted for a group, and no lift facility available for upper floors( father had a surgery few weeks back ) . So we were forced to look for some alternative options and we had roam around for 2-3 hours to find a suitable stay.

We stayed at Akkara homes and had a wonderful experience. Our stay was comfortable and enjoyed home made Kerala food. The rooms were clean and felt like staying in my house. The owner(Aunty) was very helpful and advised us of the places to visit and shop. ||The property manager Renju ensured our stay was comfortable and food met our expectation. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax in a homely environment rather than a hotel environment.

We tried to reach the place by around 9 pm. The approach was entirely flooded. When we contacted the reception, they did nothing to help us reaach the place, stating that other vehicles had somehow reached the place travelling through the flooded roads. To us it looked very risky. |The person at the reception was also arrogant. When I asked him why he had not informed us about the problem earlier, he sounded as if there was no problem at all
